Stretched Thin

I haven't been as on my game as I would like to have been.  I have indeed been crocheting a lot and now that I'm taking a breather and trying to remain calm ...
(source:  PosterPop on Etsy)
I'm going to make an attempt at a real blog update!  For the past few weeks I've been attempting to make this faux grass rug for a friend of mine and its done nothing but make me want to pull the hair out of my head.  I've always been a hands on / tutorial kinda girl, reading patterns or diagrams frustrates me and I hit boiling point at ridiculous speed.  So consulting with friends and looking up random tutorials online, it seemed 99% positive and that everything was being done right and that there was no need for me to worry, only I couldn't stop.  After starting multiple other projects to calm myself and take my mind off of the rug from hell (its not actually that bad, but I get worked up), I finally sat down a few nights ago and tweaked the pattern to make it my own and FINALLY have complete faith in it and that it will stay together (which was my fear, that it'd unravel as soon as he walked on it).  I give you a sneak preview of the Grass rug:

I've also taken up making granny squares to use up all my bits of random yarn.  May just make a pile of them or some day decide to make an actual afghan or something of that nature.  Lets not get started on my new MLB obsession and/or the fact that I cannot stop buying Giants colors.  Just observe.

Verses.

Due to a friend posting a Maylene and the Sons of Disaster video, I am now on a metal kick. Upon looking up some random Wiki info, I decided to Google some photos of He Is Legend to peep Schuylars beard. Unfortunately there aren't many great photos listed, but I found this lil number and came to realize that this guy
^   This fellow right here, or bunny #1
Looks a bit like this one. Aaron Paul of Breaking Bad fame.

Anyhow, today I shall continue my Meshuggah, Neurosis & Baroness infused playlist whilest I type & yarn my fingers to bloody nubs. Hoping by the end of the day I will have this blog up to date, along with the blog I started to document the makings of my bestests wedding: Onions n Pickles AND have at least 2 more things made for my shop. OH, also (fingers crossed) I get some photos uploaded.

Hallmark Holiday is just 'round the corner.

With that, I am currently finishing up yet another pink item to put in my shop. Due to this "holiday" approaching, I've been trying to make things in shades of pink and purple along with brainstorming more little monstrosities to make. Also trying to actually get through my instant queue, I've been putting that off because I have somewhere around 20 foreign flicks, which I can't very well watch when I'm crocheting.

Anyways, I've slacked on my blog for the past week and I'm not proud of it. I've just been distracted with editing photos and going to see my lil b, started a blog for my bestests wedding-to-be, then made the journey home. Excuses, excuses but legitimate ones me thinks. So there will be lots of coffee in my near future and also a dark chocolate bacon bar that the wife bought me that I've been holding on to like its the last one in existence for the past 4 months :x Candy hoarder!!!

This is my friend Chloe,

Ever Awesome

She has blessed me by making some awesome banners & turning me into a cartoon for my etsy.  She's also given me the honor of enjoying my yarn goodies herself.  OhChloe, how I love you and thank you again, times 77.

Today,
is February First Two-Thousand and Eleven.

My resolution for this month* is to get my blogging back in gear. Since I was at a yarn block earlier in the night, technically being January, I decided I'd get my self occupied with a new habit. Or I should say a renewed habit. I made a 2 hour attempt to take my blog out of the darkness and finally got rid of my wonky music player, updated my blog lists, added some new friends and brought some colour up in the place. Along with my blogging, I'm getting back into my lists, my other addiction next to yarn.

  • work on scarf, or monster
  • clean Optimus' bowl
  • do an update (and thank you) for January
  • get addresses for my Pay It Forwards
  • plot gifts
  • try and go get meds for Emma
  • watch one foreign flick, (possibly Luck or The Virgin Spring)

For now, I'm going to listen to some more Mondo Cane and window-tab shop.

*Monthly resolutions suit my taste better than one, year long resolution.

Whackin the Quaffle

So, I've sold about 5 or 6 beanies :D and have slowly been teaching myself how to knit.  It seems all of that, my etsy and such, is doing alright :)

Not too much else is going on, accept I'm the proud owner of

HARRY POTTER AND THE HALF BLOOD PRINCE!!!!

Yup, I went in and asked if they had a different "special" edition, maybe one that had Ron on it, instead of Malfoy.  The guy looks at me weird and replies, "I don't know about that, but we have a special tin one".  I literally did a jig and asked him "WHAT! WHERE??? SHOW ME!!!!" and he did, then I proceeded to purchase it and danced out of the store.

Hmm.. oh, and Ahmed & Catherine are gone.

What else, Jason bit my butt, that was ridiculous and hilarious.  The wife and I are in the process of fixing up Christmas goodies.  I'm currently craving Limon Hot Cheetos and coffee.  OH!  I've kicked ass on movies lately:
Moon (highly recommend it, the score = Clint Mansell! which is LOVE)...All About Steve, Confessions of a Shopaholic, Coraline, Couples Retreat, Bedtime Stories, Four Christmases, Love Happens, Nick & Nora's Infinite Playlist, Pandorum, Taken, The Station Agent...
I'm sure theres one or two more I can't recall.  But YAY for good links and not having to pay money for guilty pleasure movies :)

For now, I'm going to work on a scarf & listen to some Lykke Li.

Since I got to keep my leg...

I thought I'd do a little update.  First off:

My right leg is still in tact, despite what people might have said from the "unknown" bite I discovered at the bend of my knee.  I woke up and looked at my leg to discover a large purple circle, with a fairly "hot pink" middle and a brown bite-looking-mark in the center.  I didn't panic, I just showed everyone cause it was gnarly.  To make a long story short ... (Too Late!) (ps: tell me what movie thats from and I'll give you an amazing high5. hint: 80's) I still have my leg.

On to another topic, I finally started up my Etsy!!!
reggief @ Etsy

I'm pretty jazzed.  It's nothin fancy yet, I'm still getting the hang of things and have more pictures that need to be taken and uploaded. But still, I'm glad its finally up and I like :)

Had a lovely lil dinner party at Jasons this last Sunday.  I made spaghetti and my, dare I say, infamous spaghetti sauce!?  Jason "made" the garlic bread and we all had teas, Kerns, nummy vegetarian meat-less balls, followed with some pool and good conversations. Sometimes I forget how the simplest of things can be so refreshing.

Got to see Toy Story 1&2 in 3D with Brandon, oh my goodness!  Let me tell you, for my first 3D movie adventures, I was not disappointed.  It was so amazing, I might even see it again!!  Then I just saw Paranormal Activity with Erik.  It had its moments but nothing to be raving over, especially those reviews:
"One of the scariest movies of our time!"
"The audience was literally shaking..."
Blah blah blah. I jumped a couple times, and yelled at the end.  Nothing big, but it did make me more excited to see The Fourth Kind next month!  Are you kidding me!!  Aliens!  Oh man, god help whoever sees that with me, I'll be screamin all over the place and chances are, squeezing the life out of whoever is next to me's hand!

Still no luck on the job front, goddamned town.  More than a couple times a day, I think about moving in with a friend in SF to see if I can find work there.  I'm that in need. SF, LA or NY would be ideal for me. OH!!!!

    AHMED IS BACK!!!
Granted its only until the beginning of December, but HE'S BACK!!  We were all so excited the night he got back, as soon as my car was parked, Brandon and Erik were running towards the apartment before my door was locked.  Then as I proceeded to run, with extremely hot coffee in my hand, I lost my belongings on the way, and didn't care!  After I was sure I had squeezed all the air out of Ahmed :) I went back to pick up my: ipod, camera, gum and other lil odds and ends.  About an hour or 2 later after a quick run to the grocery store (where I scored everyone the perfect individual drinks woo!), I realized I didn't have my wallet.  Alas, when we walk back to the apartment, I find my wallet in the bushes. No harm, just funny I didn't realize and that it was actually still there, money & all.
The reason I thought of Ahmed being back is because, I was even thinking of getting my passport and going to Australia for a while.  He said he has his place and we're welcome to visit whenever.  The economy is amazing over there, it's clean, everyones doing extremely well (he's baffled) and said it'd be easy to get a minimum wage job, and be able to pay for your own apartment over there.  Sounds like a fun experience.

Ok... so it's now 624am.  What was I thinking with the 130am coffee?  Tomorrow/later today: Beanie pictures, pick out a vegetarian dish for dinner on Sunday, laundry, read :)
